First New Volvo XC60 Made in Sweden

Production for Volvo’s new mid-size XC60 SUV is officially underway. The first car to roll off the production line was a Crystal White customer-bound cruiser with T5 inscription AWD.

The new vehicle will replace Volvo’s original XC60. It launched nine years ago in Europe, and since then, it has become the best-selling premium mid-sized SUV on the continent, with nearly a million units sold around the world.

Volvo Sees Impressive Growth Over April 2016

Volvo Car USA, LLC saw a 15.4 percent increase in sales versus April last year. Not only did it see a very successful sales jump this year, but Volvo also sold a staggering 7,121 vehicles in April. Most of the automobile company’s gains are due to its top seller for the month, the XC90. Volvo saw 2,046 cars leave its lots, a whopping 40.5 percent increase over April 2016.

Volvo Makes March Milestone

Volvo Cars had an excellent March sales month. It reported a 9.3 percent year-on-year surge on the back of double-digit growth in the Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East, and African regions. Volvo Cars has appointed Martina Buchhauser its new Senior Vice President of Procurement.

Buchhauser was formally the Senior Vice President of Purchasing and Supplier Network for Interior for BMW. Before her career with BMW began in 2012, Buchhauser worked in various senior purchasing positions since the mid-1980s at MAN and General Motors.

One of the Finest

We were excited when Volvo first announced the S90 back in 2016. We know that the Volvo name carries a promise of quality, and we couldn't wait to see what its new entry was like. Volvo hit it out of the park with the brand-new 2017 Volvo S90. The first entry in the S90 line was already a top contender for the North American Car of the Year.
