2020 Volvo XC60 vs 2019 Volvo XC60

Serving Chamblee, GA

By nature, the Volvo XC60 is a fan-favorite vehicle with a winning combination of luxury, technology, safety, and style. The 2020 XC60 gets some notable updates, including a now-standard 12.3-inch digital infotainment screen. There is also a new variant of the model this year called the Polestar. The hybrid edition, called T8, gets a better EV range in 2020. The changes to this SUV follow on the heels of some minor changes to the 2019 Volvo XC60. In 2019, the XC60 got a new standard 12V power outlet, heated wipers, and heated seats on the AWD models. A 14-speaker stereo system, keyless entry, power-folding headrests, and additional driver-assist safety features were added to select trims, too. In both model years, a variety of packages and optional amenities provide further opportunities to give the luxury SUV a custom, personalized finish.

Performance

Performance is a strong point for the 2019 and 2020 Volvo XC60 SUVs. There are two engines offered for the 2019 edition. The base is a turbocharged V8 with a 2.0L capacity and four cylinders. It has a maximum power output of 250 HP at 5,500 RPM. The second gasoline engine, which is standard on select trims, is a V8 with a twin-turbocharged. This engine features a power output of 316 HP at 5,700 RPM. An eight-speed shiftable transmission is standard with both engines. In 2020, a third engine joins the lineup to give you even more options. This engine is a twin-turbo that produces 400 HP with a combination of gasoline and electric power.

Appearance

The XC60 has a contemporary appearance that is simple but elegant. Large wheels give the car stability and good looks. They also translate to a smooth and steady ride for occupants. Oversize wheel arches add to the XC60's dramatic exterior and enhance its off-road capabilities. Integrated roof rails and fortified side moldings also add to the SUV's appearance as a robust vehicle capable of handling off-road conditions with ease. LED daytime running lights and standard automatic high beams brighten your line of vision day and night. The lights also have active bending technology to help you see where you're going no matter which direction you turn.

Features

The base infotainment display screen in the 2019 XC60 is a nine-inch touchscreen. The 2020 edition has a larger 12.3-inch infotainment display. Voice control lets you safely control navigation, climate control, media, and more. Both vehicles have plenty of cargo space, which amounts to 63.6 total cubic feet with the back seats folded down. Everyone rides in first-class comfort with climate-controlled seats, a panoramic moonroof, power-operated sunshades, and 10-way adjustable seats with memory setting. The seats, crafted in fine leather, make even the longest rides comfortable. The 2020 and 2019 XC60 are equipped with innovative safety technology too, including lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and parking assist. Road sign recognition is offered on the 2020 model.
