 What's New for the 2023 Volvo S90?
The S90 is Volvo's largest sedan for the 2023 model year, and it brings several updates to the table for Chamblee-area drivers to take advantage of. In 2023, the S90 has an updated trim lineup that now includes the Plus and Ultimate as the exclusive options. The new base trim has a more elaborate mix of standard features than the 2022 S90's base trim level. The S90 Plus comes with powered sunshades, a power-folding rear seat, heated front, and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, wood trim, leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, an air purification system with a four-zone climate control system and a 12.3-inch driver's digital display. In addition, the S90 Plus has standard tech like a 10-speaker audio system, front and rear charging ports, a 9-inch touch display screen, digital services, and a navigation system.
The top trim level's features are unchanged. They include upgraded cabin materials, memory settings in the front row, a Harman Kardon audio system with 14 speakers, and a head-up display. Optional packages include a power trunk lid, a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, and massaging front seats.
The powertrain options for the new trims have also been updated. The base B6 engine is standard in both trims. This is a mild-hybrid, supercharged four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed auto transmission. It offers 295 horsepower and comes with all-wheel drive. The Recharge powertrain is exclusively available as an upgrade for the S90 Ultimate. It is a plug-in hybrid, turbo four-cylinder engine with 455 combined horsepower. Its all-electric driving range is 38 miles, and comes with the same transmission and drivetrain. You can also upgrade the S90 Ultimate with an adaptive air suspension system.
The safety tech in the 2023 S90 is unchanged, and both trims have the same selection of standard equipment. These are oncoming lane mitigation, adaptive cruise control, auto braking for the forward collision mitigation system, lane-keeping, lane departure mitigation, a surround-view camera, road sign information, rear automatic braking, and parking sensors.
