Sailors are buffeted by 60 knots of wind. The hull is smashed by the largest waves in the world. And they're sailing these itty-bitty little sailboats.
Just look at the size of them as they sail from New Zealand to Brazil.
Of course, fighting the sea as they are, problems arise. In this case, the hull is damaged, and a sailor has to hang off the side of the boat to fix it.
The Volvo Ocean Race is, to put it mildly, a grueling adventure. You might never expect a car company founded on safety to sponsor a race as dangerous as this one.
Clearly, Volvo's still got a few surprises up its sleeve.
In honor of this spirit of adventure (though perhaps not the grueling part), Volvo has created an Ocean Race edition of the XC60. Visit us at Dyer & Dyer Volvo to inquire about this, or any other model in our inventory.
