We were excited when Volvo first announced the S90 back in 2016. We know that the Volvo name carries a promise of quality, and we couldn't wait to see what its new entry was like. Volvo hit it out of the park with the brand-new 2017 Volvo S90. The first entry in the S90 line was already a top contender for the North American Car of the Year. Although it didn't win, it came in a respectable third place. Although we think it should have won, we're still pretty pleased with the result.
It's easy to see why the 2017 Volvo S90 was so well received. It combines safety with luxury in the way that Volvo is known for. On the safety front, the 2017 Volvo S90 brings a multitude of features to the table. The S90's City Safety technology automatically detects pedestrians on the road up ahead, and will slow or stop the car if the driver does not respond. The S90 will also slow or break if it detects that a collision with another vehicle is imminent, helping to reduce the damage in a potential accident and keep the driver safe. It's no wonder that the 2017 Volvo S90 was the 2017 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
On the luxury side, Volvo drew comparisons from home when designing the interior. The interior of the S90 is inspired by the openness and calm of a Scandinavian home, designed to make the driver feel comfortable and secure behind the wheel. The dash has been simplified for driver convenience. All functions are now controlled by the Sensus touchscreen for ease of use. Controlling climate, navigation, audio, and phone have never been easier than in the 2017 Volvo S90.
Volvo's first S90 was a smash hit. We're proud to carry it, and we can't wait to see what future entries will hold.
