In just a few days, we’ll get our first look at the all-new Volvo XC40 when it debuts at the Frankfurt Motor Show. But as was the case with both XC90 and XC60 models, the smallest family member will ride on an all-new platform and be styled in line with its mission. In the case of the XC40, it draws its inspiration from vibrant city life and fashion rather than the Scandinavian wilderness.

The XC40 will also debut Volvo’s second all-new platform in three years. Called Compact Modular Architecture, it will be the basis of all of the brand’s smaller sedan, wagon, and crossover offerings. It will also come with features like Pilot Assist and a City Safety system, not to mention a digital instrument cluster and Sensus Connect. We expect the XC40 will also be available with T5 and T6 powertrains with optional AWD. Interior furnishings will come with more dynamic color options, like Lava Orange and Oxide Red, and stylings that mimic urban architecture. You can get a sampling of this in the video above.

We’ll be getting more information on the upcoming XC40 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. If your current needs call for a new Volvo, you can learn more by contacting our Chamblee, GA showroom. Let us know if you have any questions.
