Serving Chamblee, GA

As Volvo expands its line of all-electric SUVs in 2025, it introduces the three-row, mid-size EX90. This impressive model takes its place above the two-row EX40. The 2025 EX40 is the XC40 Recharge with a new name. Our Dyer & Dyer Volvo associates are excited to help you discover the notable differences between the 2025 EX40 and the 2025 EX90.

Performance

Two electric motor systems are available for the EX40. The first is a single-motor system with rear-wheel drive. It produces 248 horsepower and has up to a 296-mile range. The alternative is a two-motor system with all-wheel drive. It generates 402 horsepower and has a 260-mile range.

Every 2025 EX90 has two electric motors. The standard dual-motor system is identical to the two-motor system in the EX40. Its range is 300 miles. The alternative is a high-performance version of this system. It delivers 510 horsepower and has a 310-mile range.

Appearance

The 2025 Volvo EX40 has a body-colored, curved grille as well as Thor's hammer LED headlights. It also displays similarly shaped air inlets below the headlights. From the side view, you can admire wedge-spoke wheels, deep accentuation close to the belt line, and raked side windows.

The 2025 EX90, on the other hand, also has a body colored element in place of a grille. This model's Thor's hammer headlights drop down to the lower fascia. The model is longer with a slightly raked rear. The side contouring is similar to the EX40's, and the wheels are styled with triangular spokes.

The EX40 offers a full selection of impressive features. Some of its features are driver memory settings, heated seats in both rows, adaptive cruise control, USB-C ports in both rows, a wireless phone charger, parking sensors, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a surround-view camera, a 9-inch infotainment system screen, a power liftgate, a Harman Kardon sound system, and more.

The EX90 is available with many of these desired features, as well as a 14.5-inch touch display screen, a wireless internet hotspot, an NACS adapter, wool blend upholstery, a 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system, massaged front seats, soft-close doors, and a few other features.
