2025 Volvo XC90 vs 2024 Volvo XC90

The Volvo XC90 stands apart from other three-row, midsize SUVs with its distinguished Scandinavian design and its perfect combination of exceptional engineering and premium features. The 2024 Volvo XC90 is nearly identical to the 2025 version except for a few notable updates. For example, the Ultimate trim from 2024 will now be called the Ultra.
Performance
Most of the 2024 XC90's engineering and capabilities are carried into 2025 without change. However, the suspension system has been fine-tuned to elevate performance. The 2024 XC90 Recharge will be renamed in 2025 as the XC90 Plug-in Hybrid. It continues to have a 455-horsepower system with a 32-mile all-electric range. Two gas engines are also offered and are relatively unchanged for the 2025 model year. These are a mild-hybrid 2.0-liter turbo, four-cylinder engine that puts out 247 horsepower and an upgraded version that generates 295 horsepower. The B5 engine that puts out 247 horsepower now uses a Miller combustion cycle and achieves better fuel efficiency. These engines feature an eight-speed auto transmission.
Appearance
The Volvo XC90's appearance sees only a few changes for 2025. Every XC90 now comes with Volvo sill molding. With the 2025 XC90 Core, the standard wheels are now 20-inch wheels, which are an improvement over the 19-inch wheels in 2024. Additionally, with the 2025 XC90 Plus, there are now standard laminated side windows.
Features
The 2025 Volvo XC90 continues to offer amazing features throughout. Features that are available in both the 2025 and 2024 versions of the Volvo XC90 are remote monitoring, wood trim, wool blend upholstery, a four-zone climate control system, a head-up display, a Google-based navigation system, a surround-view camera, Apple CarPlay, a traffic sign reader, heated seats, a driver attention warning, a heated steering wheel, and a Bowers & Wilkins premium sound system.
