2026 Volvo XC90 vs 2026 BMW X7

Serving Chamblee, GA

The 2026 Volvo XC90 is an elite, three-row SUV that offers all of the class and the superior performance you want from your next vehicle. This year, it boasts improvements to its interior and exterior style as well as updates to its infotainment system. The XC90 can be compared to the BMW X7, another midsize, three-row SUV. This model remains unchanged for the 2026 model year.

Performance

The 2026 XC90's base engine is a mild-hybrid, turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder unit that yields 247 horsepower. An upgraded version of this engine is also available, producing 295 horsepower. The XC90's plug-in hybrid system offers a 32-mile all-electric range and 455 horsepower.

The BMW X7 is only available with gas engines. These include a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 unit that generates 375 horsepower and a turbocharged 4.4-liter V8, offering 523 horsepower. The additional power the X7 makes comes at an extremely steep premium in terms of cost, however.

Appearance

The stunning XC90 exudes modern sophistication with a sleek, flowing profile. Chrome accentuation underscores the door panels and rounds over the windows and bumpers. The innovative headlight design features an LED outline of the contemporary, Thor's hammer shape. The lower air vents trend inward toward the classic grille.

The BMW X7 features a flatter roof, which creates a boxy shape. The kidney-style grille on the nose is tall yet narrow and substantial, with boomerang-shaped air vents flanking it. These are placed below the ultra-thin LED headlights.

Features

While the XC90 is substantially more affordable, it is packed with premium features. Some of these are a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, massaging front seats, a head-up display, Nappa premium leather upholstery, sound-insulated windows, parking sensors, a surround-view camera, a wireless charging pad, a heated steering wheel, heated seats, a 12.3-inch digital instrument screen, an 11.2-inch infotainment system screen, and more.

The standard features in the BMW X7 include a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, synthetic leather upholstery, a four-zone climate control system, ambient cabin lights, a digital instrument cluster, a power sunshade, and a wireless device charger.
