 What's New for the 2024 Volvo XC40?
If you are in the market for an entry-level compact crossover that does not look or feel basic, the 2024 Volvo XC40 requires your full attention. This sophisticated model integrates Swedish design elements and engineering with top-notch features for you to appreciate. Numerous updates are introduced in the 2024 model year, beginning under the hood. The 194-horsepower B4 drivetrain available in last year's model is no longer available. The new standard engine is a turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder system that generates 247 horsepower. This engine is available with standard all-wheel drive and an eight-speed auto transmission.
Updates to the 2024 Volvo XC40 continue on the exterior. While the body style is unchanged, Vapour Grey Metallic and Cloud Blue are new color choices. In addition, the base Core trim level now comes with bright chrome trim across the exterior. The XC40 Plus and Ultimate are now styled with your choice of dark or bright chrome trim. The Plus also now has larger 19-inch wheels. The 2024 XC40 Ultimate adds cornering lights and 20-inch wheels.
Otherwise, the style and exterior features are unchanged. The XC40 has a spacious cabin that is supported by a tall roofline. The hood has a modest definition with a cascading shape. The Thor's hammer headlights sit atop comparably shaped air inlets. Exterior features from 2023 are auto-dimming mirrors, roof rails, LED fog lamps, a panoramic sunroof, and a few others.
The available and standard features for the 2024 XC40 have also been improved. The Core trim level now has standard keyless entry and wireless phone charging. The XC40 Plus includes a cabin air purifier and a 360-degree surround-view camera. The Volvo XC40's features that continue to be available this year are Pilot Assist, a premium Harman Kardon sound system, front and rear parking sensors, leather upholstery, rear parking sensors, lane-keeping assistance, a blind-spot detection system, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay, memory settings for the driver's seat, a 9-inch touch display screen, a Google operating system, keyless entry, and more.
