 What's New for the 2024 Volvo XC60?
The sophisticated Volvo XC60 is an evolved, five-seat crossover SUV that displays Scandinavian style while delivering premium features and excellent performance. In 2024, the XC60 is a mid-generation model with several notable improvements over its predecessor. These differences begin under the hood. The entry-level B5 powertrain was offered with front-wheel drive in 2023, and it is only available with all-wheel drive this year. In addition, the B6 engine has been eliminated entirely. The B5 engine that remains is a mild-hybrid four-cylinder, turbo 2.0-liter engine that puts out 247 horsepower. The Recharge T8 engine that carries up from the 2023 model year is a plug-in hybrid version of this engine, and it delivers 455 horsepower. Its all-electric driving range is 35 miles. Select trim levels continue to have Brembo brakes and adjustable Ohlins suspension dampers.
The exterior style of the 2024 Volvo XC60 is unchanged, but the black paint color from last year has been replaced with gray. If you opt for the Ultimate trim level, your XC60 will sport new 20-inch wheels and laminated windows. This trim level is also available with the Black Edition appearance package for the first time. This package adds special 21-inch wheels, Onyx Black paint, and blacked-out trim on the exterior. The XC60's style continues to be defined by Thor's hammer-style headlights, Volvo's signature grille, and bold definition flowing across the lower door panels. Exterior features include roof rails, a hands-free liftgate, a panoramic sunroof, summer performance tires, and a few additional features.
Inside, the Plus and Ultimate trim levels now have a standard air purifier. Except for this update, the 2024 XC60's interior and safety features are identical to those available in the 2023 model year. The entry-level features are a 9-inch infotainment system screen, forward collision mitigation, a Google-based infotainment system, heated front seats, Apple CarPlay, and a navigation system. Higher trim levels add leather and wood materials, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, a four-zone climate control system, a Harman Kardon audio system, a head-up display, heated rear seats, a Bowers & Wilkins premium sound system, and a heated steering wheel.
