The popular 2024 Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric SUV was an engaging option for electric vehicle shoppers to consider thanks to its sophisticated aesthetics, solid engineering, and luxurious interior. In 2025, this model is renamed the EX40. The 2025 Volvo EX40 is a two-row compact crossover SUV with numerous updates to explore and enjoy. These updates extend to the EX40's performance and styling. In addition, the top-of-the-line trim in 2024 was named the Ultimate, and it is now called the Ultra in 2025.
The 2025 Volvo EX40 comes with your choice of two motor layouts. A single-motor powertrain system with rear-wheel drive generates 248 horsepower. Its range is up to 296 miles. A dual-motor system with all-wheel drive is also offered, and it produces 402 horsepower. Its range is up to 260 miles.
Another update for the 2025 model year is the optional Black Edition package. This package features glossy-black, five-spoke, 20-inch wheels. It also comes with Onyx body paint and charcoal interior with textile or faux suede upholstery. Overall, the exterior of the EX40 is similar to that of the previous model year. It is defined by deep accentuation running across the side doors and wedge-style spokes on the wheels. The side windows are raked for an athletic touch. The front end features Thor's hammer styling for the lower air vents and the LED headlights. In addition, a body colored band stands in place of a traditional grille.
