What's New for the 2025 Volvo XC40?
The smallest crossover SUV in Volvo's 2025 lineup is the impressive XC40. This two-row model, which stands below the XC60 in the lineup, is in the middle of its first generation. However, it shows off numerous updates for you to explore and enjoy from behind the wheel. The 2025 XC40's updates begin with the trim lineup. Last year's Ultimate trim level is now called the Ultra.
The style is unchanged on the exterior, but there are a few changes to paint color availability. Specifically, Bright Dusk from the 2024 model year is eliminated, and Sand Dune is introduced. The façade is remarkably sleek and modern in true Volvo fashion. The tall roof and slightly raked rear support ample space in the cabin. The nose shows off a smoothly curved hood with side accents that drape down toward the traditional Volvo grille. Thor's hammer accompanies the sash-style grille LED headlights mounted on their sides. Below the headlights, three-pronged air vents add character. The sides of the 2025 Volvo XC40 are sleekly contoured, and the wheels show off five spokes with a hollow, triangular design.
The three trim levels are comparably engineered with a turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder gas engine. This 247-horsepower unit is accompanied by an eight-speed auto transmission. All-wheel drive is standard.
Inside the 2025 XC40 Core, the Dark Theme is no longer available. Otherwise, the cabin is unchanged on a trim-by-trim basis. The entry-level XC40 Core comes with heated front seats, cloth upholstery, keyless entry, driver's memory settings, a 9-inch infotainment system screen, Apple CarPlay, a wireless charging pad, an eight-speaker sound system, forward collision mitigation, lane keeping, rear parking sensors and a blind-spot system. The higher trims are available with these features: a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, a surround-view camera, parking sensors, an air purifier, a Harman Kardon premium sound system, Pilot Assist and adaptive cruise control.
