The 2025 Volvo XC90 Plug-In Hybrid, which was known as the XC90 Recharge in 2024, is an elegant three-row SUV. Several mid-generation updates are introduced in 2025, extending to the interior, exterior, features, and performance. In addition, the Ultimate trim level from 2024 is now known as the Ultra.
The XC90 Plug-In Hybrid's new suspension system is evident from behind the wheel. The vehicle mates a turbo four-cylinder engine with an electric motor to produce 455 combined horsepower. It has a rear-wheel drive system and a 32-mile all-electric range.
The base Core trim level replaces the 19-inch wheels with 20-inch wheels in 2025. The distinctly sophisticated model has effortless flow across the arched hood and tall roof. Over the sides, you will find both smooth contours and crisp creases. The front end of the XC90 Plug-In Hybrid has a fresh look with a wide, chrome-accented grille. The grille is styled with chrome accents placed at two angles. A crease below the grille rolls into the tall, chrome-accented air inlet, and chrome also underscores the bumper. The headlights have an LED outline of Volvo's signature, Thor's hammer design.
You will find a restyled dashboard with an updated 11.2-inch infotainment system screen. There are also new interior materials and sound-deadening features to enhance the ambiance. The entry-level trim continues to have seven-passenger seating, Apple CarPlay, a Google-based navigation system, a digital instrument panel, a 10-speaker audio system, heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, front, and rear parking sensors, lane keeping, and others. The higher XC90 Plug-In Hybrid trim levels are also available with heated rear seats, second-row captain's chairs, a surround-view camera, wood trim, leather or wool blend upholstery, a heated steering wheel, a Harman Kardon sound system with 14 speakers or a Bowers & Wilkins system with 19 speakers, rear window shades, and more.
