There's a lot of great things to love about the Volvo XC60, but we wouldn't have guessed, "Looks great as part of an art exhibit," would be one of them. All of us at Dyer & Dyer Volvo love us some automotive art, so we could hardly say no to checking out what the artists had done for the Volvo Art Session and marveling at the talent displayed.
The session took place at one of Europe's heaviest pedestrian traffic areas, the central train station in Zurich, Switzerland. The artists, both well-establish and just starting to make names for themselves, were given an XC60, a massive white backdrop, and were told to incorporate the vehicle into an art piece with the theme of "Designed Around You." And, let us tell you, the results of their efforts are truly amazing.
One artist painted the SUV into a large painting of a soapbox racecar piloted by a cartoony child, the vehicle blended into the background as part of the racecar's body and wheels. Another covered and painted it to be completely golden, surround by bright yellow and whites - as though it were a glorious cocoon. It's definitely something you should check out for yourself at the link above in the first paragraph; it won't be time wasted.
