In a new XC60 film, Volvo says it has captured the essence of how cutting-edge safety technology can transform the lives of the car's driver and passengers--and that of their loved ones.
The film follows a young girl on her first day at a new school. You'll catch a preview of what life has in store for her throughout the years. She'll grow up, travel, settle down and raise a family. However, one day, she finds herself in a life-threatening situation.
Imagine she walks in front of an oncoming Volvo vehicle. Does she avoid an accident or is she impacted by the collision? Thankfully, Volvo's safety system sees the girl and applies its autonomous emergency brake, and prevents a crash.
The short film concludes with this powerful thought:
“Sometimes the moments that never happen matter the most.”
According to a press release on Volvo's website, over 1.2 million people die in traffic crashes around the world each year. To help make roads safer for our friends in Georgia and around the globe, the new XC60 features new safety features including Oncoming Lane Mitigation, which employs steer assist to help lessen head-on collisions. Volvo’s Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) got a refresh with a steer assist feature that helps reduce the threat of lane-changing collisions.
