Production for Volvo’s new mid-size XC60 SUV is officially underway. The first car to roll off the production line was a Crystal White customer-bound cruiser with T5 inscription AWD.

The new vehicle will replace Volvo’s original XC60. It launched nine years ago in Europe, and since then, it has become the best-selling premium mid-sized SUV on the continent, with nearly a million units sold around the world.

“This is a proud day for everyone at the plant,” said Magnus Nilsson, vice president of the Torslanda plant. “We have worked hard in recent weeks and months to prepare Torslanda for this latest new Volvo model, and now we are ready to start delivering new XC60s to customers.”
