2023 Volvo XC90 vs 2023 Volvo XC90 Recharge Plug-In Hybrid

Serving Chamblee, GA

The XC90 is a three-row luxury SUV that is Volvo's flagship model for the 2023 model year. This sophisticated vehicle is available with three powertrains, including two gas engines and a plug-in hybrid system. Our Dyer & Dyer Volvo customers often inquire about the core differences between the standard XC90 versions and the XC90 Recharge. A thorough review will help you finalize your SUV selection with the highest confidence.

Performance

The 2023 XC90's base engine is a 2.0-liter turbo, four-cylinder, mild-hybrid unit that produces 247 horsepower. The other XC90 gas engine is a more powerful version of the first option, offering 295 horsepower. The engines have a four-wheel-drive layout and connect to an eight-speed auto transmission. The 2023 Volvo XC90 Recharge is a plug-in hybrid with rear-wheel drive, giving you 455 combined horsepower.

Appearance

You will not find any differences to the XC90's appearance based on its engine, but there are a few differences between the three trim levels. The 2023 XC90 has a confident, modern look with a flat roof and horizontal accents crossing through the side panels. At the front end, the rectangular grille carries Volvo's elegant slash design, and the headlights have a tilted, hammer-style LED element. The base trim has 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive headlights, roof rails, and a panoramic sunroof. Higher trims are available with 20-inch or 21-inch wheels and headlight washers.

Features

Likewise, the cabin and safety features differences are based on the trim level rather than the engine. The XC90's base features are remote vehicle monitoring, simulated leather material, a four-zone climate control system, heated front seats, power-folding rear headrests, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, adaptive cruise control, reverse auto braking, a driver attention warning, front and rear parking sensors and others. At the higher trims, the 2023 XC90 may be available with wool blend upholstery, a head-up display, a Harman Kardon or Bowers & Wilkins sound system, massaging front seats, heated rear seats, a surround-view camera, and additional features.

Our inventory at Dyer & Dyer Volvo is usually brimming with possibilities for our customers to discover and test drive. To better understand the differences between the XC90's gas and plug-in hybrid systems, connect with our staff members for a test drive.
