Performance
The 2022 XC40 is offered with two gas engines, revamped with mild-hybrid technology for the 2023 model year to improve fuel economy. The base engine is the B4. This is a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbo system with an eight-speed auto transmission. The unit yields 194 horsepower and has a front-wheel drive layout. The B5 powertrain has the same transmission and a more powerful engine, giving you 247 horsepower. The B5 is only offered with all-wheel drive.
Appearance
The 2022 XC40 is easy on the eyes with a clean, contemporary look, and its style has been fine-tuned in 2023. The new look includes an updated grille and revisions to the headlights and bumper. The grille has a geometric feel with horizontal bars and a chrome outline. The headlights have a wedge-like shape with a sideways-T LED bar. The bumper has a trapezoid shape with unique side air vents. The profile displays a triangular design through the wheels, sharp raking through the side windows, deep yet linear door contouring, and a rear spoiler.
Features
The updated trim lineup for the 2023 XC40 includes Core, Plus, and Ultimate. The Core trim gives you equipment like satellite radio, assistive safety tech, a Google infotainment system, a dual-zone auto climate control system, a 12.3-inch display screen, and Apple CarPlay. The Plus adds front parking sensors, Digital Services with a 4-year subscription, a universal garage door opener, and a panoramic sunroof. The top Ultimate trim builds on this with adaptive cruise control, an air purification system, a surround-view camera, and a Harman Kardon sound system.
