Performance
In 2023, a B4 engine that generated 194 horsepower was offered in conjunction with a B5 engine. In 2024, the B4 engine is eliminated. The B5 is the only engine available, and it is a 247-horsepower, four-cylinder, turbo 2.0-liter unit. All-wheel drive is standard across the full trim lineup in 2024.
Appearance
In 2024, the Volvo XC40 brings two color options to the table. Cloud Blue and Vapour Grey join the other colors available in the 2023 model year. In addition, the 2024 XC40 Core now has a bright chrome trim. The Plus and Ultimate trim levels are available with your choice of bright or dark trim. In addition, the 2024 XC40 Ultimate is updated with 20-inch wheels and redesigned cornering headlights. Otherwise, the exterior design is comparable for both years. An upright stance with linear definition over the rear haunches defines this model. The nose has Thor's hammer LED headlights, and the same shape is found in the front air vents.
Features
There are a few updates to the features offered as well. The 2024 XC40 Plus has a cabin air purifier and a 360-degree camera. The other features in the XC40 are available for both model years. Some of these are a Harman Kardon audio system, Pilot Assist safety features, adaptive cruise control, parking sensors for the front and rear, a universal garage door opener, power-folding headrests, leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, forward collision mitigation, a blind-spot warning system, heated front seats, Apple CarPlay, driver's memory controls, a wireless charging pad, a digital instrument cluster, and several additional features.
